The festive season is nearly upon us, a time to give, celebrate and spend time with our nearest and dearest, especially after the year we’ve all had!
The average Australian is expected to spend $1,232 this festive season*, with the majority of that being spent on gifts. Furthermore, research from Stockholm Environment Institute at the University of York** found that our total consumption over three days of festivities could result in as much as 650 kg of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) per person - this is a dramatic increase from the rest of the year.
As conscious consumers, let’s keep mindful giving at the top of our lists while keeping environmental impact to a minimum. A little forward-thinking about the brands you buy could go a long way to reduce your carbon footprint and support businesses really doing the right thing.
We’ve collated some of our favourite Australian ethical brands for a stylish and conscious Christmas.
